SYNC 3 Updates

Some SYNC 3 updates appear to only be available over the air (i.e. through Wi-Fi) and don't show up as an available update on the Lincoln or Ford Owner sites. Your SYNC may report as up-to-date, even though you have a constant "Download" attempt on your SYNC 3 unit every time you get in the vehicle.

My goal is to provide these harder to find files here as complete install-ready packages, so you can complete these updates using a USB drive instead of the unreliable Wi-Fi update process and finally get rid of the "Downloading System Update" message. ONLY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL FILES BELOW IF YOUR SYSTEM IS TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THE DATA AUTOMATICALLY (SEE THE PICTURE TO THE RIGHT).

This is only meant to supplement your Lincoln and Ford Owner site update files. Only use the files listed below if you have seen that exact file name downloading on your Automatic Updates screen on your SYNC 3 unit. Check your Owner site to make sure there are no updates available there. If you continue to see a Downloading... message and your Owner site reports that you are up to date, download the necessary packages listed below and install them on your SYNC 3 system.

SYNC 3 Update Files

Instructions:
Find the file your SYNC 3 system is attempting to download below, and click it to begin the download. The file will be a ZIP file, just like the one you receive from the Lincoln and Ford Owner websites. Simply download it, extract it, and move the one file (autoinstall.lst) and the one folder to the root (main) folder on a USB drive formatted as exFAT (Master Boot Record).
